NATIONAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR -PHILIPPINES

The National Science and Engineering Fair (NSEF) Philippines is a scientific research competition opens to all elementary, high school and senior high school students. The primary purpose of the fair is to provide students with an opportunity to actively explore scientific topics that interest them by conducting independent research projects, developing critical thinking skills, and presenting their findings, ultimately fostering a deeper understanding of science and potentially sparking enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) fields. The participants are given opportunity to develop individual learning potentials through hands-on learning and communication practice. It also allows students to practice the scientific method and showcase their research abilities in a competitive and yet child-friendly setting.

All about NSEF

The program aims to create a culture of research in the nation and bring about opportunities for learning and collaboration platform among the participants. In April 2018, there were about 300 young research finalists and observers with 81 research projects from all over the country participated in the 1st NSEF. The event was followed by the 700 research participants in 2019 with 300 research and 500 projects with 1000 proponents nationwide in 2020 making us the biggest scientific research gathering for the basic education in the Philippines. The pandemic halted our operations due to scientific institution and academic learning restrictions. In 2025, with the theme “THINK, CREATE & EXPLORE”, we are bringing back the grandest scientific event for students to assist the country in the promotion and development of science literacy, critical thinking and problem solving skills among its people.
