About the Contest
The NSEF Science Essay Writing Contest is an academic writing competition organized under the National Science and Engineering Fair (NSEF). It aims to cultivate scientific literacy, critical thinking, and effective science communication among students by encouraging them to articulate evidence-based perspectives on science, technology, engineering, and societal issues.
This contest emphasizes clarity, accuracy, originality, and relevance, bridging scientific knowledge with real-world applications and national or global challenges.

This comprehensive training program is designed to equip educators, administrators, and student researchers with the essential knowledge and skills to organize and implement high-quality, ethical, and globally aligned scientific research projects at the pre-college level. The training is especially relevant for schools that have existing science research programs or are in the process of establishing one.
Participants will be guided through international standards and protocols that govern the conduct of student-led scientific research, ensuring safety, compliance, and academic integrity across disciplines.
National Science & Engineering Fair
The National Science and Engineering Fair (NSEF) Philippines is a scientific research competition opens to all elementary, high school and senior high school students. The primary purpose of the fair is to provide students with an opportunity to actively explore scientific topics that interest them by conducting independent research projects, developing critical thinking skills, and presenting their findings, ultimately fostering a deeper understanding of science and potentially sparking enthusiasm for STEM fields. The participants are given opportunity to develop individual learning potentials through hands-on learning and communication practice. It also allows students to practice the scientific method and showcase their research abilities in a competitive and yet child-friendly setting.
